Bio Coming...

Secretary: Margo Sandy, Calgary, AB

I’ve spent over a decade in the trenches of high-volume specialty care, and my journey began right at the front desk. Working my way from reception to management gave me an "inside-out" understanding of clinic life; I’ve sat in every chair, which means I know exactly how a bottleneck at check-in ripples through to the surgical suite.

As the Office Manager at Orbit Eye Centre, I handle the daily puzzle of HR, billings, and complex surgical flows. Beyond the day-to-day operations, I also oversee our thriving surgical fellowship program, which keeps me deeply engaged in the training and development side of specialized medicine.

I know firsthand the challenges our members face—from navigating policy changes to keeping a team motivated when the waiting room is full.

I’m a big believer in the power of mentorship and collaboration. My background as an HR coach and my current role as Executive Secretary for MGMAC are driven by a simple goal: helping our members find practical solutions to the unique hurdles of healthcare administration.

I’ve seen how much we can achieve when we stop working in silos. Whether we are navigating different regulatory landscapes or unique regional challenges, I believe that excellent patient care and efficient office operations aren't defined by a province or a border. At the end of the day, people are people—and when we support our teams, our patients thrive.

I’m always happy to connect, swap stories, and share a best practice that might make your workday—and your team's day—a little smoother.

Director-at-Large: Lisa Lamothe, Revelstoke, BC
